Tour & Travel Australia / Barossa Valley / Taste The Barossa
Taste The Barossa
Barossa Valley Day Tour
- Small Group Winery tours (max 20 people)
- 4 wineries, including Peter Lehmann & Murray Street Vineyards
- Barossa Valley regional platter for lunch (vegetarian option available)
Explore the Barossa Valley with Taste the Barossa and you will enjoy a
day tasting some of the best food and wine in Australia. We start the
day at a relaxing 9am picking you up at your accommodation or a pre
arranged point in Adelaide. We make our way out of Adelaide through the
Adelaide Hills with our first stop the famous Whispering Wall where you
will be fascinated by its famous acoustic qualities.
Our first winery is the beautiful and historic Château Yaldara, this is
one of the most photographed buildings in South Australia and no trip
to the Barossa Valley is complete without getting a photo in front of
this iconic building. Enjoy some great wines or if it’s too early you
can pop into Café Y for a spot of morning tea.
Our trip continues with a cruise through some of the most picturesque
scenery in the Barossa Valley. We cross the world famous Jacobs Creek
as we head toward the heart of the Barossa Valley, the beautiful and
historic township of Tanunda. There you have time to wander up the main
street and visit some local shops and points of interest, a perfect
place to find a souvenir.
Lunch is a regional highlight. While we enjoy some of the Barossa’s
most internationally acclaimed wines at the beautiful Peter Lehmann
winery a platter of the best meats, cheeses, olives, assorted
vegetables and freshly baked bread the Barossa Valley has to offer is
brought to your table. (There is a great vegetarian regional plate
option also)
The third winery is a secret that you are bound to enjoy. We share this
visit between a select number of wineries in the Barossa Valley that
generally would not be able to commit to a regular tour group, a real
highlight of the day. We make our way though the Barossa Valley and
check out the beauty and history of the famous Seppeltsfield region. We
view the iconic Seppeltsfield winery which then ties in perfectly with
the last winery we visit for the day.
We finish our day at Murray Street Vineyards on the opposite side of
the Barossa Valley to where we started. This is one of the smaller
wineries we visit however it has one of the greatest stories in the
Barossa Valley. Owner and chief winemaker Andrew Seppelt is a 6th
generation Barossa wine maker and brings together all his family’s
local knowledge with lessons he learnt while working in the famous wine
regions of France. Murray Street Vineyards is a wonderful blend of the
old and new world. With a little luck Andrew might pop in and you can
ask one of the brightest wine making stars in the Barossa some
questions. This tour blends historical wineries, wonderful regional
food, breathtaking scenery and the people that make the Barossa Valley
a truly world class region, a day you are bound to enjoy.
